I opened a ticket with them, but it looks like I may have an extra Melodyne license. I didn't want to succeed installing it there and in doing so prevent it from working on the computer where I actually do most of the music work. On my travel laptop I haven't tried installing it yet. It tells me I need to validate Melodyne but sends me to a page where I can only purchase a new license. On my Music Computer (B) it just doesn t want to install. ![]() I logged into my account and it looks like my old Studio One 4 license is still valid, despite I stopped paying the monthly fee to Presonus. I am actually having a hell of a time because when I owned Studio One 4, I had Melodyne 5 installed, so when I tried to install it on my workstation A (my work computer), Melodyne just worked. Strangely, Mixcraft 9 still ships with Melodyne 4, even though there is a sticky forum post. I have no idea if my license had expired or was still attached to my Studio One, despite the fact I stopped paying the monthly fee.Īnyway, I thought I'd report this in case it's useful to someone else. I guess even the older version of Studio One 4 used a newer Melodyne version. After a few payments I realized it was no better than Mixcraft for what I do with it and, in fact, it slowed my workflow, so I switched back to Cakewalk Sonar (or whatever it's called these days) and then today I decided to take the plunge and buy Mixcraft Pro. I am going to install again, but I thought that Melodyne being a version behind was odd.įor anyone wondering, I had purchased Studio One 4 in monthly installments some time ago. 5.x the Mixcraft installer was at the "Thank you and goodbye" stage. It looks like Mixcraft 9 uses an older version of Melodyne? Why?Įssentially, in this latest installation Melodyne never installed at all. It also told me that my version of Melodyne (5.x) was too new and it couldn't install the one that comes with Mixcraft (4.x). On my second laptop (3rd computer) it never asked for the key at all. The first two installation went well, it asked me for my name and key and proceeded to install as normal. Well, I installed Mixcraft Pro 9 on all 3 of my laptops and I wanted to report something strange. Is there a solution to this conundrum? I no longer have the laptop with Mixcraft 7 (Wasn't mine) and before I installed Mixcraft 9 to any of my computers I wanted to make sure I was doing it correctly in case what I need is possible. I had Cakewalk for a longtime and I even had a subscription to Studio One 4 (which I liked) but Mixcraft was still easier for me to work with, despite Studio One being much more expensive. I have used Mixcraft 7 in the past and just bought 9 because I realized that Mixcraft's workflow really works well with mine. Even if I were doing it once a week, it still would not be worth it.Īs I said above, Adobe makes it really easy to deauthorize a license temporarily. I cannot justify buying 2 separate licenses, because using the "C" laptop happens maybe once every two months. ![]() Occasionally I use it with my large TV for watching videos and such and I would like to use it with Mixcraft if I am either traveling, staying someplace else or if I want to just mix a few loops for later working on it at my workstation. It's still powerful enough (i7 with 16GB of RAM) but it 's my travel laptop. This is where I record and do most of my work.Ĭ) 1 Lightweight convertible tablet-like laptop. Here I don't have room for a 88 keys MIDI controller, mixer and other stuff, but I have some old near-field speakers and a very large screen, so it's ideal for mixing.ī) 1 "Desktop Replacement Laptop" with an external 22" screen that sits on my Yamaha Digital Grand and it's surrounded by my amps, guitars, sound cards, etc. The third computer comes into play only if I am traveling or if I happen to go wild and I want to use my traveling laptop so I can sit outside.Ī) 1 Kickass workstation in my office that I use for Gaming, music mastering and actual work. I was wondering if Mixcraft (and Melodyne) had something similar.įor starters, I only use Mixcraft & melodyne on one computer at the time and usually I do it on 2 specific workstations. I have the same issue with my Adobe subscription, but there is easily solved by simply de-authorizing one computer and authorizing another. In short, I would like to find a way to use Mixcraft Pro 9 (and Melodyne if possible) on 3 separate computers. I have what I think not a so unusual situation these day.
